What is it Quordle?
Quordle is a five letter word guessing game similar to Wordle, except that each guess applies letters to four words at once. You have nine guesses instead of six to correctly guess all four words. It seems to play four Wordle games at the same time, and that’s essentially what it is. But it’s not as intimidating as it sounds.
IT IS Quordle harder than Wordle?
Yes, although not devilishly.
where did Quordle come from?
in the midst of Wordle boom of late 2021 and early 2022, when everyone was learning to love free once-a-day browser word guessing games, creator Freddie Meyer says he was inspired by one of the first great Wordle variations, dordle — the one where you basically play two words at once. He took things up a notch and released Quordle on January 30th.(opens in a new window). Meyer’s creation was covered in The Guardian(opens in a new window) six days later, and now, according to Meyer, it attracts millions of daily users. Today, Meyer earns modest revenue(opens in a new window) from Patreon, where dedicated Quordle fans can donate to keep their favorite puzzle game running.
How is it Quordle pronounced?
“Kwordle.” It must rhyme with “Wordle” and definitely not be pronounced exactly like “curdle”.
IT IS Quordle strategy different from Wordle?
Yes and no.
Your initial strategy should be the same as Wordle. In fact, if you have a favorite Wordle opening word, there’s no reason to change that here. We suggest something rich in vowels, with common letters like C, R and N. But you want it.
After your first guess, however, you’ll notice that things are getting out of hand if you play Quordle exactly like Wordle.
What should I do in Quordle that I don’t do in Wordle?
Solving a Wordle The puzzle can boil down to a series of single letter change variations. If you narrowed it down to “-IGHT”, you can guess “MIGHT” “NIGHT” “LIGHT” and “SIGHT” and one of them will probably be the solution – although this is also a famous way to end up losing in the Wordle, especially if you play on “hard mode”. At the Quordlehowever, this type of single-letter selection is a death trap and hints at the important strategic difference between Wordle and Quordle: At the Quordleyou can’t waste guesses unless you’re eliminating as many letters as possible all the time.
Guessing a completely random word that you already know is not the solution, just to eliminate three or four possible letters that you haven’t tried yet is considered a desperate latch-on move. Wordle. At the Quordlehowever, it is a normal part of the player’s strategic toolset.
Is there a way to get the answer faster?
in my experience Quordle can be a slow game, sometimes taking longer than it would take to play Wordle four times. But a sort of blunt force guessing approach might speed things up. The following strategy also works with Wordle if you just want the solution and don’t care about making as few guesses as possible:
Try starting with a word series that puts all the vowels (including Y) on the board, along with a few other common letters. We got lucky with the three words: “NOTES”, “ACRID” and “LUMPY”. YouTuber DougMansLand(opens in a new window) suggests four words: “CANOE”, “SKIRT”, “PLUMB” and “FUDGY”.
Most of the alphabet has now been eliminated, and you may only miss a try or two if you use this strategy. But in most cases you will have all the information you need to guess the remaining words without mistakes.
If the strategy isn’t helping and you’re still stumped, here are some tips:
